After a multifaceted musical education including choir, piano and cello, Agathe Labadie chose to continue her journey in classical voice. The young soprano developed her predilection for vocal music during her sixteen years as a singer at the Dijon Cathedral Choir, in her French hometown. She graduated from the Paris Regional Conservatory with honours in 2021 and obtained her Bachelor’s degree at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam in 2024, where she is now studying in her first year Master’s with Sasja Hunnego.
A versatile soprano with an agile voice and a sparkling personality, Agathe finds joy in singing a variety of repertoire. In June 2023, she performed the role of Amore in Gluck’s opera Orfeo ed Euridice in Amsterdam. In addition to opera, she also relishes in performing art song and took part in the “Day of the Lied” at the International Lied Festival in Zeist, in May 2023. Additionally, she has developed a particular interest for contemporary music and performed at the Muziekgebouw Eindhoven in the 2022 Per Nørgård retrospective.
Agathe’s curiosity and love for languages led her to take part in international masterclasses with renowned teachers, among whom Margreet Honig, Ira Siff, Regina Werner, Sara Mingardo, Chantal Santon-Jefferey and Yvonne Kenny. Roles she performed include Belinda in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, Cupidon in Offenbach’s Orphée aux Enfers and Despina in Mozart’s Così fan tutte. In 2019, Agathe received a unanimous silver medal at the Clefs d’Or Competition in Paris.
Keen on understanding the current issues of the musical industry and taking part in the future of live performance as an art form, Agathe graduated from a Master’s degree in Cultural Policy from Sciences Po Paris in 2018. Alongside her studies, she teaches amateur singers, advocates for healthy musicianship, enjoys wine tastings and spending time in nature.
