Agathe Labadie is a French soprano with an agile voice and a sparkling personality. She relishes in singing a wide variety of repertoire, from opera to art song, is passionate about contemporary music and enjoys working with current composers.
In the 2025-2026 season, Agathe has interpreted the role of Pamina in a staged production of Mozart’s Zauberflöte, as part of the Musica Le Mans Festival. She also took part in the creation of Arnold Marinissen’s Simone Weil cycle at the Orgelpark Amsterdam. In January 2026, she performed at Splendor Amsterdam in Imaginations, a staged recital exploring the joy of childhood inventiveness, with pianist Pieter Bogaert and director Iris Skolidi. Agathe also sang at the Muziegebouw Amsterdam with saxophonist Nonthapat Chaiviratnukul, with whom she founded Iro Duo.
In the past seasons, Agathe was enthusiastically involved in a number of contemporary music performances. In March 2025, she created the lead role of Alicia in Izak de Dreu’s Motorized Delusion, as part of the Opera Forward Festival at the Dutch National Opera. In June 2025, she took part in several performances of Terry Riley’s “In C”, also at the Dutch National Opera. Other notable performances include the 2023 creation of “The Month of February” by George Demetriou, as a member of the Score Collective Ensemble at TivoliVredenburg in Utrecht. In 2022, she also sang in the Per Nørgård retrospective at the Muziekgebouw Eindhoven.
Outside of contemporary music, Agathe has performed the role of Amore in Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice, in a staged production at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam in 2023. Other roles she performed include Belinda in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, Cupidon in Offenbach’s Orphée aux Enfers and Despina in Mozart’s Così fan tutte. In 2023, she also sang at the International Lied Festival in Zeist. Agathe has taken part in masterclasses with renowned artists and teachers, among whom Patricia Petibon, Margreet Honig, Ira Siff, Amaya Dominguez, Chantal Santon-Jeffery, Regina Werner, Sara Mingardo and Yvonne Kenny.
Agathe’s interest for vocal music started at the Dijon Cathedral Choir, where she sang for 16 years. She later chose to continue her journey with classical voice, and graduated from the Paris Regional Conservatoire with honours in 2021. In 2024, she obtained her Bachelor at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. Currently in the final year of her Master’s there, she studies with Sasja Hunnego. In 2019, Agathe received a unanimous silver medal at the Clefs d’Or Competition in Paris.
Regularly coming back to choral music, Agathe was a choir member at the Paris 2024 Closing Ceremony of the Olympic Games, where she sang in Zaho de Sagazan’s performance of “Sous le Ciel de Paris”. Keen on understanding the current issues of the musical industry, she graduated from a Master’s degree in Cultural Policy from Sciences Po Paris in 2018. Alongside her studies, Agathe also teaches voice, enjoys learning languages, wine tastings and spending time in nature.
